Kota Kinabalu Revisited
I was in KK for few days last week for DVMC meeting. I walked around town on sat to see what has changed since my last stay in this magnificent city.
Hotel Promenade, where I was booked. This is not my preferred hotel, otherwise known as "Malayan" Hotel to Sabahan because if you hang around in the lobby, you will see many of your fellow "Malayan" friends doing business in KK. I think their staffs need retraining in customer relation. And would you believe that to use WiFi you need to pay RM20 for two or three hrs while many other hotels give it freely to their hotel guests. What a kampung mentality

The Wedding in Kg Bakar Baginda
Nope, this is nothing to do with Altantunya, but I was invited as a friend and an official blogger for the wedding of the daughter of Prof Wan Mohtar and Prof Mek in Kg Bakar Baginda, near UKM.
Here is some of the picture, the whole lot is in my PICASA Web Album, here. The streamyx line is damned, so slow that I can't even read my emails. I will repost when the line is better later.

Kinabalu That Dr Naim and Family Ought to see

My good friend Dr Naim Yunus wrote his frustration at the cloud that blanketed Kinabalu when he was Jalan-Jalan in Sabah. Well, seasoned traveler to Mt Kinabalu know just that how lucky you are if the mountain is "open" for you to see for just few minutes. I was in this place many times since 1982, often spending overnight because I am an associate of the Park Research Unit.
The photo above is taken last year, and truly magnificent shots. Take a peek to all collections in my picasa web album.

My family and Rafflesia
Returning to the campus from Sungkai WS, I made a quick pit-stop at home to take shower because it will be along night in the lab to do some autopsy on Rafflesia bloom taken home to study characters of this flower from southern Perak. To the delight of my family (I seldom take home Rafflesia bloom) they were excited in seeing their dad's favorite flower in person. And doesn't want to miss opportunity to get photographed with Rafflesia.
Cautious note here: we do not take all and every bloom home, this is unintentional detour. And not everyone can take Rafflesia from their habitat, only RRMT members for scientific purpose and intention only (we need to study it and then keep it as a record in the museum as a botanical specimen).
So with this caution, I posted pictures of my family with Rafflesia.
